When you buy a VPS server, you can access it with an IP address. This tutorial will show you how to access the server with a domain name instead of IP Address. While this example uses iPage.com as a registrar, you can adapt the instructions to any registrar like Bluehost, SiteGround, DreamHost, Hostinger, HostGator, GreenGeeks, WPEngine, Rocket.net, Fasthosts, A2 Hosting, Just Host, HostPapa, GoDaddy or Namecheap etc.
Below steps will help you how to point or transfer a domain name to vps hosting or server. (Domain fro ipage and VPS server from Hostinger)
1. Login to your VPS hosting control panel and click on manage button. Find the IP Address for vps server/hosting. Copy the IP Address.
2. Now Login to the domain provider control panel. Find the Menu where your domain name is located. Now search the DNS records in domain name. Now change the “A” Record for “@” symbol and Paste the IP Address that we have copy from VPS Hosting panel. Change “A” record for “www” also and paste IP address here. In case of no above record found, please add new records for both of above condition.
3. Wait for some time. It may take up-to 48 hours to be update.
