Estimate the browser’s animation frame rate from measured frame intervals. An animation compares movement on each browser frame with roughly 30 steps per second. The measurement uses the median of 180 collected intervals.

What this test can and cannot show
The result is a browser frame-rate estimate, not a direct reading of the monitor’s physical refresh rate. Power saving, variable refresh, browser scheduling and busy apps can affect it. Nearby common rates may be rounded; the raw median is also shown.

Why does a 144 Hz monitor produce a result near 60?
Check the active display mode in your operating system, keep this tab visible and retry with busy apps closed. Browser scheduling and power-saving settings can limit the observed rate. A lower browser result alone does not prove a monitor fault.
How is the browser frame-rate estimate calculated?
The tool collects 180 accepted animation-frame intervals, converts each to frames per second and uses the median. It rounds values near common rates for the large display and also shows the raw median. This is an estimate of browser animation timing.
How this tool was checked
Automated Chromium checks on October 1, 2026 exercised the measurement and result display. No monitor specification was read, and the result is not a hardware refresh-rate certification.
