Record microphone audio, pause and resume, then preview and download the recording. A live level meter helps you check that audio is reaching the browser.
Ready.
How to use
Start recording and allow microphone access. Speak, pause if needed, and stop when finished. Listen to the preview and download before leaving this page.
Limits and compatibility
Microphone permission and a supported MediaRecorder browser are required. The format is selected from supported WebM or MP4 recording types; this does not export MP3. Long recordings consume memory.
The tool processes selected files in this browser. Download the result before closing the tab.
Quick answers
Record microphone audio by starting the recorder, allowing microphone access, then stopping and downloading the clip. Pause and resume are available. The browser chooses a supported WebM or MP4-family recording format; this tool does not create MP3.
Questions and troubleshooting
Why is the recording silent?
Check microphone permission, the operating-system input device and mute settings. Speak while watching the level meter, then play a short test clip. If permission was denied, allow it in the browser site settings and try again.
Will a recording be saved if I close the tab?
No automatic saved copy is provided. Stop and download before leaving; the preview and recording data are held by the current page. Long recordings can exhaust available browser memory.
What we checked
Pause, resume and a WebM download passed with a synthetic Chromium microphone, including a published French-page check. No physical microphone or acoustic quality was tested. Checked October 1, 2026 in Chromium.
