Show available thumbnail images for a YouTube video. Paste a regular video, Shorts, embed or short link, or enter the video ID.
Ready.
How to use
Enter a valid link and request thumbnails. Download an available size. If direct download is blocked by image-server restrictions, open the image and use the browser’s save-image option.
Limits and compatibility
Images are requested from YouTube’s image servers, which receive those requests. Not every video has every thumbnail size. Only use images you own or have permission to use. This does not download videos.
Quick answers
Paste a YouTube watch, Shorts, embed or youtu.be link, or its 11-character video ID, to show available public thumbnail sizes. This tool retrieves images from YouTube’s image servers; it does not download the video.
Questions and troubleshooting
Why is there no high-resolution thumbnail?
Not every video provides every size. The tool displays available images and their actual dimensions rather than enlarging a smaller thumbnail. Try another available size; a valid-looking ID may still have no retrievable image.
Why does Download open a new tab?
YouTube’s image server may block direct browser fetching. The fallback opens the original public image so you can use the browser’s save-image option. Retrieval does not grant reuse rights; use your own images or obtain permission.
What we checked
A public thumbnail loaded and invalid input was rejected. The cross-origin fallback opened the image; the browser’s manual save action was not automated. Checked October 1, 2026 in Chromium.
